ACI Home Performance Conference 2009
HVAC 4 - Downsizing Mechanical Systems After Retrofits
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 · 8:30 AM - 10:10 AM
Successful retrofits can substantially improve the thermal performance of a home. As a result the heating and or cooling equipment may be even more oversized than they were to begin with. In what instances and with what types of equipment is this a liability? Is it possible to downsize or alter existing HVAC equipment? When is it best to replace heating or cooling systems? At what point does the retrofit change things dramatically enough so you can totally rethink the space conditioning systems that may be appropriate?
By attending this session, participants will
- Understand the potential and opportunities for downsizing mechanical systems after retrofits
- Explore the potential of deep energy measures on HVAC system reduction
- Be introduced to innovative technologies
