MON 2 - No House Left Behind: Delivering Energy Efficiency to Every Home

Tuesday, April 28, 2009  ·  1:30 PM - 3:10 PM

How can local governments preserve affordable housing, tackle the split incentives of the rental market, make housing healthier for tenants, and still meet energy reduction targets for their climate action plans? Discover a number of programs and projects operated by the City of Berkeley with a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Learn how the County of Sonoma and its nine cities collaborated on a regional greenhouse gas reduction target, evaluated reduction needs, implemented financing programs to address the up-front cost barrier for efficiency retrofits, and geared up to implement a large-scale retrofit.

  2. Explore of how community groups, governments, and citizens can collaborate to promote wide-spread energy efficiency retrofits for homes
  3. Find out lessons learned and next steps for these initiatives
