HEAL 2 - Challenge of Applying ASHRAE 62.2 in Existing Homes

With the increased emphasis on making existing dwellings more energy efficient, ensuring acceptable indoor air quality in our housing stock becomes a more common need. This session will summarize the basics of ASHRAE 62.2, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings, and the proposed appendix for existing buildings. After this overview, the practical details of designing and properly installing ventilation for acceptable IAQ will be covered. Obstacles, costs, and suggested design and work flow of applying the ASHRAE 62.2 Standard to existing dwellings will be discussed by one of the country’s most experienced practitioners.
