ACI Home Performance Conference 2008

Delivering Comfort & Energy Reductions

Without proper air flow, other air conditioning system improvements such as charge correction and duct sealing should not be attempted. Low air flow should be corrected before proceeding with other measures but how can a building performance technician communicate this need effectively with an HVAC service technician to get the intended result? Hear about lessons learned through one program's experience in over one thousand northeast homes.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Learn why proper air flow is critical to total system performance
  2. See results of air flow testing before and after service and compare results of different testing methods (flow plate, Duct Blaster TM, static pressure drop)
  3. Learn techniques to communicate low flow issues to HVAC service personnel and to understand their language for positive results
