ACI Home Performance Conference 2008

Reducing Electric Loads

There have been dramatic developments in micro-cogeneration. Fuel-fired systems in the house can generate a significant amount of electricity, along with space and tap water heating. Learn about the different technologies, including advanced gas-fired modulating IC engines, gas and liquid-fired Stirling engines, fuel cells, and thermophotovoltaics. Find out how these technologies can help resolve the large scale centralized electricity supply problem, while significantly lowering overall greenhouse gas emissions, improving efficiency dramatically, and even selling power back to the grid.

By attending this session, participants will

1.      Appreciate what micro-cogeneration is
2.      Understand the range of advanced micro-cogen technologies now impending on the North American marketplace
3.      Understand the potential energy, environmental, and system advantages offered by micro-cogeneration
