CARB 2 - Residential Efficiency Programs: Lessons Learned

Tuesday, April 08, 2008  ·  1:30 PM - 3:10 PM

Energy efficiency programs implemented over the past thirty years have generated a wealth of insight regarding program implementation and the challenge of accurately pedicting program impacts. Explore how lessons can be applied to carbon-oriented program design going forward. Issues addressing program design, implementation, and evaluation will be discussed. Find out why energy savings projections can be misleading. Examine a recent case study that combines energy and carbon in a strategy to lower greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Explore which measures programs really save and what the characteristics of are high saving and low saving programs
  2. Be able to able to identify the program elements that need to in place in order to insure that expected energy savings are achieved
  3. Learn about the expansion of residential program design that incorporates energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green products that create tangible energy savings and carbon reductions
