LOW 3 - Reducing Payment Assistance with Energy Efficiency

Tuesday, April 08, 2008  ·  3:35 PM - 5:15 PM

Ratepayer funded bill payment assistance programs offer subsidies to low-income customers to make their energy bills more affordable. Utilities and states have coordinated bill assistance programs with energy efficiency programs, in an effort to reduce costs to other ratepayers or to further increase energy affordability. Explore different models for payment assistance programs, find out how energy efficiency programs can reduce ratepayer subsidies, and hear evidence from evaluations on these interactions.
