ACI Home Performance Conference 2008

WAT 3 - Making Sense of Water Conservation

Tuesday, April 08, 2008  ·  3:35 PM - 5:15 PM

More frequent and more critical water shortages are raising the importance of effective water efficiency programs. WaterSense, a partnership program sponsored by the US EPA, helps consumers make purchasing decisions by labeling high-performing and water-efficient products. Innovation is encouraged by helping to define and develop product performance criteria. The Florida Water Star Program helps builders produce and market water-efficient homes. Water-efficient performance is ensured through rigorous criteria, certified inspections, and the use of the latest technology.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Discover the value and need for the EPA WaterSense label and why product performance is essential for delivering water-efficient products
  2. Learn about the requirements and criteria to build water efficient homes, and how to encourage water efficiency in new construction at the regional level
  3. Explore techniques for building partnerships with product manufacturers, builders, and other water efficiency groups
