PRAC 7 - Moisture & Infiltration Issues in Modular Homes

Thursday, April 10, 2008  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

Initial research performed by the Factory Built Housing Center (FBHC) at Penn College, in conjunction with a number of Pennsylvania modular home manufacturers, have documented a number of moisture problems in finished modular homes. Many are directly related to improper air sealing details in the plant or on site. Understand what practices are being recommended to prevent infiltration and moisture problems, thereby enhancing home performance and homeowner satisfaction.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Understand moisture dynamics and air leakage sites unique to modular construction
  2. Explore the relationship between the symptoms and the causes
  3. Become aware of simple fixes and preventative measures
