RES 8 - ENERGY STARŪ Homes Evaluation Results

Thursday, April 10, 2008  ·  10:30 AM - 12:10 PM

ENERGY STAR® homes are being built throughout the country, but few studies have measured how much energy they actually use. This session will report on studies of the actual energy usage of ENERGY STAR homes built in AZ, NY, WI, and NJ. Energy usage in ENERGY STAR homes will be compared to usage for typical residential customers, other new homes, and ratings software projections.

By attending this session, participants will
1.      Gain a better understanding of how much energy new ENERGY STAR Homes actually use
2.      Learn about how the selected energy upgrades, housing unit type, and household demographics affect energy usage
3.      Develop a better understanding of the challenges associated with measuring the energy impacts of the ENERGY STAR Homes
