DIAG 6 - Worst-Case Draft: What Do the Numbers Mean?

Wednesday, April 25, 2007  ·  3:30 PM - 5:10 PM

House depressurization and backdraft testing have become a major part of performance contracting and weatherization standards. Homes are being built or renovated with less air leakage. More and larger exhaust devices are being installed in many homes that have a direct affect on vented combustion appliances. What are the testing procedures being used? Why should you complete testing to ensure safe combustion zones?

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Review combustion venting and testing procedures to determine safe combustion zones
  2. Find out how the numbers may help to determine causes of depressurization and backdrafting of vented combustion equipment
  3. See how different states have set up testing procedures to find the numbers that matter
