COMF 2 - Tailoring Air Conditioning For Your Climate
Tuesday, April 28, 2009 · 1:30 PM - 3:10 PM
North American climates vary. The Southwest is very hot and very dry; the Southeast is very humid; and the rest of the country is mixed. Central air conditioners can – and should – be manufactured, selected, and installed to optimize performance where installed. We discuss regional needs, rating method short-falls, and changes that are in sight to benefit industry and customers.
By attending this session, participants will
- Increase understanding of how air conditioners meet space conditioning needs for both temperature and humidity control
- Gain some insights into selecting and installing equipment to maximize efficiency while controlling temperature and humidity for that house in that location
- Catch up on public policy: EISA 2007 requires the Department of Energy to evaluate up to three regional air conditioning standards. What are the environmental and business implications, and what is the time table?
