FUND 3 - Dealing with the Job Stoppers

There are a number of reasons why a home performance project could be stopped cold in its tracks. When unanticipated problems manifest themselves during a project, installation crews are often forced to stop work and the profitability of the job disappears. For jobs like these, the best case scenario is the job is postponed. The worst case scenario, however, is for the job to be cancelled and all costs unrecoverable. Learn how to identify and avoid problems that will stop your project before they materialize. Problems such as knob and tube wiring, existing vermiculate insulation, asbestos, lead, moisture/mold, incomplete paperwork, insufficient access to work areas, electric availability, scheduling headaches, siding identification, structural interconnections, permitting, licensing, etc.

2. Learn how to identify and resolve these problems prior to beginning a project
3. See and hear real experiences of how projects were derailed by unforeseen problems and the solutions that were used to resolve the issues
