ACI Home Performance Conference 2008

TEVE 1 - Panel - Climate Change & Peak Oil: A New Context for Residential Energy

Tuesday, April 08, 2008  ·  7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

We are in the beginning stages of the transition from a cheap, abundant energy economy to one in which energy conservation will be increasingly important. In addition, we are already witnessing changes to our ecosystem brought on by elevated CO2 saturation. It is within this context that the panel will explore the implications for our work in the residential sector. Are we simply rearranging deck chairs?
By attending this session, participants will
  1. Engage in the question of how we, the ACI community, should be addressing our work in the context of a changing climate and a post peak oil / natural gas world
  2. Consider how the particular skills and knowledge base of the ACI community can be used to champion these issues
  3. Participate in brainstorming a positive, practical outline of next steps
