Lighting has been defined by many regions and utilities as the biggest AND most cost-effective electric resource. Design advancements, product improvements, and end-user delivery are making this possible. CFLs and fixtures will be reviewed and discussed. Discuss research and program experience regarding consumer adoption. Assess how different programs approach new and existing construction change-outs.
 
By attending this session, participants will
 
  1. Understand lighting concepts, issues, and solutions for new and existing homes
  2. Recognize monetary savings and benefits related to supporting efficient lighting as a significant conservation resource
  3. See new technologies and their advancements
  4. See cost comparisons for incandescents versus many energy efficient light sources
  5. Be aware of where LED technology currently sits in relation to residential lighting
