ACI Home Performance Conference 2008

POL 7 - State Climate Policy Development in the US

Thursday, April 10, 2008  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

Find out how the creation of statewide greenhouse gas inventories and action plans or “roadmaps” drive state policy on energy conservation. These roadmaps have implications for residential retrofit work and whole house thinking. Learn about the Pennsylvania Climate Roadmap, the Center for Climate Strategy’s work on climate action plans in eighteen other states, and the New England / Eastern Canadian Provinces Roadmap. Explore public policy implications at the state level, as well as how those actions may impact federal policy.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Learn about state and regional climate roadmaps, action plans, and greenhouse gas inventory efforts
  2. Understand the relationship between state climate change action activity, residential retrofit, and whole house initiatives
  3. Explore the relationship between state climate action and federal policy and how state action is already and appears to be poised to continue to lead federal policy
