ACI Home Performance Conference 2007

Too Wet

Durable building design and common sense are not mutually exclusive. This session offers a number of case studies illustrating building failures with obvious causes. A discussion of needed repairs demonstrates the point that economics favor doing things right the first time.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Gain a greater appreciation for the importance of respecting the laws of physics in choosing building envelope design and component selection
  2. Recognize the magnitude of money wasted because of foolish building designs
  3. Learn to be aggressive in demanding durable building design in the planning stages
