MAM 21N - EcoVillage: Lessons Learned in Sustainable Community Creation (in-field)

The Cleveland EcoVillage project seeks to redevelop a neighborhood around a transit stop on the near west side of Cleveland with project partners Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization and EcoCity Cleveland.
Tour the neighborhood and visit the important projects with the developer, architect, and green community activist. Projects visited include the EcoVillage Townhouses, a single family infill home, a green rehab, and the community gardens.
By attending this session, participants will
- Explore how to promote sustainable communities with redevelopment and community involvement
- Learn how to make decisions for developing existing neighborhoods, ie. rehab, infill single family, townhouses, multifamily
- Find out how to provide affordable infill construction that is durable, energy efficient, comfortable, and provides good indoor air quality for its occupants
