Lighting has been defined by many regions and utilities as the biggest AND most cost-effective electric resource. Design advancements, product improvements, and end-user delivery are making this possible. CFLs and fixtures will be reviewed and discussed. Discuss research and program experience regarding consumer adoption. Assess how different programs approach new and existing construction change-outs.
By attending this session, participants will
- Understand lighting concepts and issues for new and existing homes
- Recognize the opportunities related to supporting efficient lighting as a significant conservation resource
- See the most promising products and applications and those that are still the most challenging
- Be able to differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate applications for LED technology [“Be able to” needs to stay in]
