MAM 13N - Analyzing Electric Baseload (In-field)
Monday, April 23, 2007 · 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
In many homes there is a significant opportunity to save energy by addressing the year-round uses of electricity. In fact, reducing electric baseload can sometimes be more cost-effective than measures geared to cutting the cost of heating and / or cooling. Using a combination of visual inspection, nameplate information, diagnostic tools, charts, and calculation shortcuts, we will explore and analyze opportunities.
By attending this session, participants will
- Differentiate whole house and baseload use and explore how the family, use patterns, and equipment affect electric consumption
- Get hands-on practice using a variety of kWh meters and other diagnostic devices
- Evaluate options and prioritize actions to benefit occupants
