MFD 04N - Techniques for Using Spray Foam & Sealants (In-field)
Monday, April 23, 2007 · 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Explore the use of foam, both in bulk form for insulation and in kits, normally used for sealing applications. Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) provides high performance thermal insulation and an excellent air barrier. SPF can be used to treat localized problem areas or as an overall building insulation and air barrier system. In air sealing applications, one and two component polyurethane foam sealants are being increasingly used in response to their versatility, convenience, and speed of installation.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Become familiar with spray foam and one and two component polyurethane foam sealants, their differences, chemistry, and applications
2. Demonstrate the application of SPF bulk insulation to provide a basic understanding of what it is, how it is installed, and how to recognize correct applications
3. Gain hands-on experience with these products including start-up, application, troubleshooting, and mothballing
4. Learn of the many markets in which these products provide benefits of cost effectiveness, speed of application, convenience, superior insulation and air sealing properties, and profitability
