ACI Home Performance Conference 2007

TC&S 4 - Recruiting, Training, & Retaining Quality Contractors

Wednesday, April 25, 2007  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

Often, the skills and capacity of contractors are the weak links when delivering comprehensive HVAC, insulation, and home performance services to residential energy efficiency (EE) programs and consumers. How can the contracting industry and EE programs help qualified contractors differentiate themselves in the marketplace?  What strategies for training and field support are effective? How can programs respond more effectively to quality contractors in order to engage them? Find out the answers to these questions and more.

By attending this session, participants will
  1. Assess how ACCA’s QI / QC specs will differentiate HVAC contractors and prepare contractors for the next generation of services
  2. Recognize the need for standardized protocols and a consensus on best practices so that skill sets are more readily identifiable
  3. Learn from several programs who are focused on developing the contractor infrastructure for whole house services
