GRN 8 - Are Green Building Criteria Full of BS? (Building Science, that is)?
Thursday, April 26, 2007 · 10:40 AM - 12:20 PM
We will look at several green building programs from the perspective of fundamental building science, asking the question: “Will buildings built to these criteria necessarily perform at a high level in terms of occupant health, building durability, energy efficiency, comfort, and environmental impact? Do the criteria include processes to make sure the standards are met?” Bring your curiosity and experiences to share.
By attending this session, participants will
- Get insight into how to look at criteria and standards from the perspective of effectiveness
- Learn about how consistent – or inconsistent – major green building criteria are with basic building science
- Share perspectives on this with others from around the country
