GRN 7 - "Building" Deconstruction
Thursday, April 26, 2007 · 8:30 AM - 10:10 AM
Deconstruction is an emerging practice for the safe and efficient management of building material reuse and recycling. Deconstruction involves the disassembly of building components and systems using construction practices so materials are being “created” rather than consumed in the process. Learn about the opportunities, constraints, and procedures for deconstruction and the reuse of building materials. No prior technical experience is needed.
By attending this session, participants will
- Learn the basic steps in planning and implementing a deconstruction project
- Gain an understanding of the issues and opportunities in building material reuse
- Understand how to incorporate and benefit from partnerships with deconstruction and reuse companies for renovation and demolition projects
