HEAL 6 - Is Green Housing Healthier Housing?

Wednesday, April 25, 2007  ·  3:30 PM - 5:10 PM

Green building and rehab programs, along with consumer demand, are on the rise. And every green program claims health and IAQ benefits. But, how healthy are green labeled homes? Are all programs meeting the same IAQ standards? How do these programs fare in reducing IAQ risks, including mold, mildew, pests, VOC’s, formaldehyde, radon, carbon monoxide, and airborne particulates? Find out which programs succeed and which may not with respect to resident health.

  1. Be able to identify and compare the various green building programs for new and existing buildings
  2. Explain the strengths and weaknesses for resident health of the green building rating systems
