PROD 7 - New Construction Products - Picking the Right Ones
Thursday, April 26, 2007 · 8:30 AM - 10:10 AM
Almost daily, new construction products appear with the claims "better and more durable." But are the test results that accompany these claims relevant? Most new products have never been tested within the building assembly in which they will be used. Furthermore, the absence of short-term problems is not a guarantee of long term performance. The best approach to new products is one of caution, skepticism, and vigilance.
By attending this session, participants will
- Understand the importance of defining the application or the need before considering the product
- Be able to evaluate manufacturers' test results and determine if the selected test is relevant
- Know resources that are available to assist in the selection of construction products
