HEAT 5 - Sizing HVAC Equipment: Different Approaches
Wednesday, April 25, 2007 · 10:40 AM - 12:20 PM
Replacing existing heating equipment often means downsizing from the existing equipment. Time constraints on the job can result in using rules of thumb or just plain guessing in place of doing the calculations. Learn to determine the proper size of equipment to use as a replacement based on the house’s current energy consumption.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Find out about using heating degree day data for equipment sizing
2. Learn how to size replacement equipment based on the energy consumption of the current equipment
3. Discover some tradeoffs made when sizing replacement equipment
