Rebroadcast of Webcast Series 1 - Duct Camp

WC 3 - Duct Diagnostics: Level 2

Tuesday, October 10, 2006  ·  3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

This session delineates a thorough duct evaluation process, including: tools and tests, what they tell us, why we want to know, and what the results mean. Procedures included are: duct leakage measurement, airflow through the system, static pressure, temperature rise or drop across equipment, temperature loss or gain between equipment and supply registers, impacts of duct leakage pressures on the house and combustion appliance zones (CAZ’s), and worst-case depressurization. This is not an in-depth training on step-by-step processes for individual tests.

By attending this session, participants will

1.       Examine components of a thorough evaluation process for existing duct systems
2.       Learn to determine which tests to conduct in which order
3.       Familiarize themselves with basic and advanced testing procedures to quantify the status of the ducts regarding health and safety, leakage, static operating pressure, and room air distribution
