Combustion System Efficiency
This session will show the various uses and misuses of the term “efficiency” when applied to residential combustion systems. Find out where and
when heat losses occur and how these can be counteracted, by technology, installation, or maintenance. Examine different methods and instruments used to
measure performance, including some that give guidance on how the system can be improved and others that merely show the level of performance. Fallacies and
misunderstandings will be highlighted.
By
attending this session, participants will
1. Be aware of the
various meanings of “efficiency” applied to residential combustion systems, and how these terms are often misused or
misunderstood
2. Understand different methods and techniques
for measuring combustion system efficiency and determining options for increasing efficiency
3.
Comprehend the variables used to calculate combustion efficiency and how they affect
combustion efficiency
Keywords: assessment,
combustion, combustion appliances, combustion systems, diagnostics, efficiency, inspections, techniques
